Ansh Tripathi, a fitness influencer, chose what to eat carefully and curated a diet for himself which helped him lose 35 kg, making him fit and strong. Ansh earlier weighed a whopping 115 kg and underwent a drastic weight transformation—80 kilos within a year.
Ansh shares snippets of his impressive weight loss journey on his Instagram profile in a bid to inspire others to pick up and choose the right diet, which can do wonders. Ansh’s social media profile is replete with helpful information related to faster and steady weight loss. While he consistently exercised, Ansh took great care of his diet, avoiding certain foods not good for those seeking weight loss.

Foods that Ansh recommends you must avoid

When following a weight loss journey, it is a big dilemma on what to eat. And so, a good, healthy, and balanced diet plays an important role here. From helping you detox to building strength and immunity, different kinds of food groups help provide the required nutrition.
However, according to Ansh, there are a few food groups whi are extremely delicious but a big hindrance to your weight loss journey and should be completely avoided. Here is the list of ten items:

Breakfast Cereals

According to Ansh, many breakfast cereals are marketed as healthy but, in reality, are high in sugar and lack fibre. “Choose whole grain cereals or oats with no added sugars,” he wrote.

Flavoured yogurt

While flavoured yogurt sounds healthy, it often contains added sugars and does not help in weight loss. Instead, you must opt for plain Greek yogurt and add your own fresh fruits for flavour.

Instant noodles

While they are super convenient, instant noodles are high in refined carbs, sodium, and unhealthy fats. It is best to replace them with whole grain options or homemade noodle soups with fresh veggies.

High-sugar beverages

Packaged fruit juices, sweetened teas, and energy drinks are high in sugar and empty calories. It is best to replace them with either plain water, herbal teas, or even unsweetened beverages instead.

Creamy salad dressings

Creamy dressings for salads like the ones that are mayonnaise-based are high in unhealthy fats and calories. Instead, make generous use of olive oil-based vinaigrettes or yogurt-based dressings for a lighter option.

Processed cheese spreads

Cheese spreads are often high in sodium and unhealthy fats so it is best to avoid them. In place of these, you must “opt for natural cheese slices or spreads without added ingredients,” Ansh wrote.

High-calorie biryani

Traditional biryani is super high in calories due to the use of ghee, fried onions, and fatty meats. And so, the best alternative is to choose biryani with lean meats or vegetables and make sure to limit portion sizes.

Sweetened, flavoured milk

Flavoured milk drinks like rose milk or falooda are super delicious but loaded with sugar. “Make your own flavoured milk at home using unsweetened milk and natural flavourings like cardamom or saffron,” says Ansh.

Restaurant Buffets

Buffets often encourage overeating with a wide variety of high-calorie dishes. Choose smaller portions and focus on filling your plate with salads, grilled proteins, and vegetables.

Dals and curries

Dals and rich gravies that are cream-based can be high in calories and unhealthy fats. And so, go for simple, lightly spiced dals and curries made with lentils, beans, or vegetables.
